Cute Puppy Dog Newsletter, January 9th, 2005 edition
Hi !
I hope you had a great holiday season!
I wish you and your family all the best for 2005.
I feel like it's been ages since I sent the last newsletter!
This week, I have one funny story and an update on a new
IAMS product I talked to you about in December.
First, a good laugh!
This funny story was sent to me by Alexandria.
===============================================
Missy is a little Shihzu puppy and she does
more funny stuff that any body can imagine. See we have a little puppy couch for
Missy because she doesnt like the high couches and the couch has a puppy
quilt. When missy goes to sleep at night she likes to be under covers as you
already should know. Anyways she likes to dig up the puppy quilt and pick up
her little puppy pillow and then digs up the quilt and pulls her pillow under the
quilt and sleep there. And if her little puppy pillow goes missing she wont sleep
at night she howls and howls at the washer machine until the next morning
when she gets her little pillow back and then she will go dig up the quilt to
take a little nap until about 3:00pm.
Sincerly,
Alexanderia

Now, the IAMS product.
Last month someone from IAMS (or a company taking care of their marketing!)
sent me an email asking me if I would review a new product they launched, and
if I would publish my review either on my site or in my newsletter.
I said yes and, because I like to give things away to my subscribers, I asked them
if they could send me a couple more samples to do a contest.
Well...they did not send me more samples, so I won't be able to give them away,
sorry guys.
But anyway, I gave my word I would review the product, so here is my review!
The product is called IAMS Savory Sauce. It comes in a bottle and is very similar
to Barbecue sauce.
The concept? You add one tablespoon of the liquid for each 1/2 cup of dry food
you give your dog. It contains 16 immunity-boosting vitamins, nutrients and
anti-oxidants.
The gravy comes in 3 flavours : Roasted Beef, Countrystyle Chicken and
Savory Bacon. I have to say, it does smell pretty good. Ok, I did not taste it
MYSELF but the smell is nice.
So, the real test : Skye. I gave one tablespoon to my Golden Retriever and
she licked every single drop of it, so no question about it, it is good!
The downside of this product? Ok... I am specialised in marketing, so when
companies create a new product, I like to analyse the idea a bit. What IAMS
has created here is a need. They tell you that you are giving essential nutrients
to your dog, which in itself is excellent. BUT, it also tells you to put it IN your
dog's food. And THIS creates a need. Why? Because once your dog is used to
this wonderful new taste, it will probably REFUSE to eat its food WITHOUT it.
And there you are, stuck to buy this product forever ;)
The good thing about it? If you have a really picky dog that wont eat, or an old
dog that does not eat enough, this product can really help. So go for it.
If you have an healthy dog and want him to get the essential nutrients, why not
do like I did and give the tablespoon of gravy as a treat, in a spoon or in anything
that is NOT his usual food bowl?
10$ price for 3 bottles. So go for it if you want to give it a try!
Oh, and by the way, I did receive a bunch of IAMS coupons available in US
and CANADA. I'll give them away to someone in the list. So, if you buy IAMS
food and want the coupons, send me a funny dog story and the winner will get
the coupons by mail.
I need the entries by January 15th, 2005. Good luck!
COOL PRODUCT OF THE WEEK
Back from the holidays, we all need to do a little more exercise to burn all
those calories we have taken don't we ? ;)
So, this week I present you the Martingale-style collar.
what I call a "gentle" chocker because it does not hurt your dog on the neck,
but it does apply a little pressure.
This type of collar is excellent if your dog tend to pull a little too much when
you go for a walk. You know... when your dog is making YOU take a walk,
instead of the opposite? ;)
That's it for this week,
Stephaie
